Pranksters in Bali face deportation over face mask stunt.

Two YouTubers are facing deportation from Bali, Indonesia after they made a prank video that depicted one of them breaking local mask laws.

Josh Paler Lin and Leia Se published a video which showed a supermarket security guard turn the couple away for not wearing a face covering.

The pranksters return to their car where Lin paints a blue surgical mask on Se’s face in an attempt to fool the guard.

When they return to the supermarket, the security guard allows the two to enter the store believing Se is wearing a real mask.

The video, which has since been removed by the pair but reposted by others, attracted the attention of immigration authorities.

With the help of a local law firm, the Youtubers filmed an apology video where Lin claims “the video was not at all to disrespect.”

According to reports, the couple have had their passports confiscated before being jailed in an Indonesian immigration centre awaiting a decision.

Lin is reportedly from Taiwan but lives in the United States, while Se is a Russian citizen, according to a police statement.
