Passenger arrested after headbutting Ryanair crew.

A drunken man was arrested after he headbutted a Ryanair flight attendant on a flight from Tenerife, Spain to Manchester over a facemask disagreement.

Daniel Hendry, 24, reportedly drank three quarters of a bottle of vodka before removing his facemask and refusing to put it back on.

After Ryanair cabin crew reminded Hendry he must wear the mask, he responded by saying, “f*** off, I’m going to punch you, going to smash your head in.”

Hendry then headbutted a member of staff before ‘stroking’ a female staff member’s arm and trying to hug her.

The captain requested an emergency landing at nearby airports but was refused as they were shut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The captain then decided to ‘accelerate’ the aircraft arriving in Manchester 25 minutes ahead of schedule.

In video footage posted online, Hendry can be seen being put into handcuffs and escorted off the plane by police.

Hendry pleaded guilty at Manchester Magistrates Court to entering an aircraft when drunk, criminal damage and assault, and will next appear before Minshull Street Crown Court for sentencing next month.
