United Airlines bans family after 2-year-old refuses to wear a mask
Eliz Orban and her husband boarded the United plane in Denver with their little girl called Edeline.
After Edeline refused to wear her face mask, a flight attendant approached the family warning they would be kicked off the plane if the girl did not keep her mask on.
In a video posted online, the husband can be seen holding the mask over his daughter’s face as she playfully covers her face with her hands and pushes the mask away.
“I’m literally holding it over my daughter’s face,” he said. “This is compliance right here.”
However, this was not enough for the cabin crew, as the family were booted off the flight.
“Hello sir. I’m going to have to ask you to grab your belongings and exit the aircraft,” the United employee says.
Back in the terminal, Eliz cries into the camera explaining: “Today, we were asked to leave the plane after it had rolled out, and they had to bring it back to the gate because our two-year-old daughter would not ‘comply’ and keep her mask on.”
United Airlines later released a statement to TMZ regarding the incident: “The health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority, which is why we have a multi-layered set of policies, including mandating that everyone onboard two and older wears a mask.”
The statement continued, “We are investigating this specific incident and have made contact with the family. We also refunded their tickets and returned their car seat and bags.”
