Flight diverted to Houston to remove three unruly passengers.

An Aeromexico flight from Toronto to Mexico City was diverted to Houston following an incident involving three passengers.

According to reports, two men and a woman were told they weren’t allowed to consume alcohol by a flight attendant, and were advised to finish their beverages.

This prompted the trio to become disruptive and refuse to wear their face masks.

“The three became belligerent, wouldn’t put their masks back on, and were rude and confrontational with flight staff,” said a Houston Police Department public information office.

“The flight attendant advised the pilot who then made the decision to divert the flight to Bush Intercontinental.”

Upon arrival in Houston, police took the unruly passengers off the plane, however, none of the three were charged in connection with the incident.

A man and a woman were taken to a sobering centre, and US Customs and Border Protection took the other man as he was not allowed to enter the United States.

Augusto Bernal, a spokesperson for Houston Airport System, confirmed that “Houston Police and CBP met the flight and removed the passengers from the aircraft. The flight departed shortly after to Mexico City,” Bernal said via email.
