Canadian man jailed for sexually assaulting a flight attendant.
A Canadian man has been sentenced to six months in US federal prison for groping an American Airlines flight attendant on a flight from Cancun, Mexico, to Miami International Airport in August.
Enio Socorro Zayas, 50, was sentenced Monday in Miami federal court. He pleaded guilty to the assault in October.
According to a criminal complaint, a female flight attendant serving refreshments left snacks on Zayas’ lap because she believed he was asleep.
Zayas, however, seemed to have taken this as an advance.
Without the flight attendant’s consent, he reached around his side, intentionally grabbed the back of her leg and moved his hand up to her buttocks.
Upon arrival in Miami, the flight attendant reported the incident, and several passengers corroborated her story.

It’s the latest in a string of incidents in which male passengers have touched female cabin crew and fellow travellers without their consent.
Last year a Frontier Airlines passenger was taped to his seat after he allegedly groped two flight attendants and punched another in the face on a flight from Philadelphia to Miami.
In a video posted online, Maxwell Berry of Norwalk, Ohio can seen with his mouth partially covered with tape calling for help, as the plane prepares to land.
A Twitter user who claims to be the unruly passenger in the video spoke of how he was unfairly treated to his alleged misconduct.
“This will forever be the most dehumanizing experience in my entire life,” Berry wrote. “Many people laughed and ridiculed me as I was mistreated by staff of a PROFESSIONAL airline. Just to make matters worth this has gone “viral” on the internet and will never disappear.”
