Deal alert: Buy-one-get-one-free flights from UK cities to Europe from £24 per person

As the travel industry reopens following COVID-19 shutdowns, TPG suggests that you talk to your doctor, follow health officials’ guidance and research local travel restrictions before booking that next trip. We will be here to help you prepare, whether it is next month or next year.

Yes, you read that right.

For the first time in the airline’s history, Ryanair is introducing a buy-one-get-one-free sale on seats from airports up and down the U.K. to destinations spanning Europe. The airline is ramping up its efforts to save this winter season from being the “write-off” that the airline’s CEO Michael O’Leary is predicting

by getting people flying.

The sale ends at midnight on Thursday, 24 September, so be sure to act fast if you want to make the most of the offer.

Before you get your credit card out, be extra careful when selecting your flights. Ryanair’s fares are historically the cheapest from its hub at London Stansted, and in some instances, it’s still cheaper to book single flights that aren’t included in the offer.

The example below is just one of many we discovered where choosing the buy-one-get-one-free fare is more expensive than booking a regular fare. For the below flights to Copenhagen, the cheapest fare on 26 October is actually £10, which works out at a whole two pounds cheaper than the buy-one-get-one-free fare at £22 earlier in the day.

The deal works best from regional airports, which have more infrequent schedules than from Stansted and, therefore, fares are usually higher.

We picked three popular destinations: Corfu (CFU), Krakow (KRK) and Rome (CIA), which are all still on England’s travel corridor list, meaning that holidaying there is still possible without quarantining on either end of your trip.

To book, head to Ryanair’s website and enter your local airport to see what options are available to you. Then, all you need to do is use the built-in price comparison to make sure the deal actually saves you money.
