Details
During this glamping experience, you will stay on an elegant three-story pontoon; connected to the lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island.
Accommodation for a maximum of 30 guests is available – in various categories, including queen-size beds on the upper ceiling and a dormitory in the underwater observatory. So if you want to watch fish in between and don't want to get wet, you can sit by the window. 😉
The breakfast buffet is served around 8 A.M. but it is worth taking your first dive or snorkeling trip beforehand, as the water is usually calm and clear in the morning and countless tourist groups from Bundaberg arrive every day around 9-10 A.M. to see Australia's world-famous reef.

The project is also committed to experiencing the reef in a more sustainable way. It is well known that tourism is significantly impacting the reef, and because of that, the Lady Musgrave Experience is committed to ecologically sustainable use of the marine park by providing higher levels of environmental protection, including eliminating single-use plastics on board, promoting reef-safe sunscreen to all guests, reef monitoring and educating visitors about sustainability.
Above the waterline, the innovative zero-impact design is completely solar and wind-powered, and below the waves, coral cultivation, and Citizen Science programs give back to the world’s greatest natural treasure.
During the turtle breeding season in November, overnight guests have the opportunity to take night tours to the nearby island. A fascinating experience!
Those who stay overnight in the observatory have a good chance of seeing one or two turtles or other reef creatures glide past the bed at night. The property's bathrooms are simple, functional, and have hot showers.
A two-night stay will cost around $900 AUD per person (about $645 USD per person) – including luxury catamaran transfers, all meals, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat rides, and island tours. For Australia and the unique experience, we think this is an affordable price! Especially since the view in the morning is priceless anyway!
