Pensioner hits Jet2 employee after it was claimed he had confiscated her gin and tonic.

An elderly woman was caught on camera hitting a Jet2 employee after it was claimed he had confiscated her gin and tonic.

According to reports, the woman first became hostile after asking for free champagne and being told the low-cost airline does not provide that service.

Instead she bought a gin and tonic as the plane made its way from Manchester to the Greek island of Rhodes.

However, soon after serving the alcoholic beverage, a member of the cabin crew took the drink away from her after she became increasingly aggressive.

In a video shared online, a male member of staff can be seen leaning over into a row of seats near the front of the plane and trying to calm the woman down.

The unnamed woman stands up from her seat and slaps the employee across the face twice.

Another flight attendant is seen helping restrain the woman who falls back into her seat before the clip ends.

The captain made the decision to perform an emergency landing in Munich, Germany where nine police officers boarded the plane to escort the belligerent elderly passenger off the aircraft.

Another passenger, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed the woman urinated on several seats before being escorted off the plane.

Two hours later, the flight finally continued on to Rhodes.

A Jet2 spokesperson was quoted saying, “We would like to apologise to customers for this unforeseen delay and any inconvenience caused. The health and safety of our colleagues and customers remain our number one priority, and, as a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour.

“We will not hesitate to vigorously pursue any costs incurred as a result of this diversion.”
