Iceland: Nonstop Starting at €108 From Europe in October 2020 (Hand Luggage Only)
Icelandair offers cheap nonstop flights from numerous European cities to Reykjavík, starting at €108 for a roundtrip from Oslo. This is a base fare that includes beverages, a cabin bag and a personal item. If you prefer travelling with a checked bag up to 23 kg both ways, we would advise booking directly with Icelandair, where a checked bag adds €50 to the roundtrip fare. From London, you can use British Airways‘ nonstop service.

Iceland has announced to re-open for tourists starting June 15. Arriving passengers have to self-quarantine for 14 days or do a Covid-19-test, that can be purchased at the airport for the hefty price of ISK 50,000 (~€331). These regulations are scheduled to end on August 31, but may be extended.

Icelandair uses Boeing 757 or Boeing 767 aircraft on these flights. They feature a 3-3 (757) or 2-3-2 (767) seating configuration in economy class.
Hand luggage rules with Icelandair are as follows: One bag with dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm and a maximum weight of 10 kg is allowed. In addition, passengers are allowed to take along a personal item with the dimensions of 40 x 30 x 15 cm.

According to the fare rules, a minimum stay of 3 days or a night from Saturday to Sunday is required. A maximum stay of 12 months is allowed. The travel period ends in February 2021, but best availability is in October 2020. The deal expires June 5, 2020.

- Better Customer Service
In case any problems like delays, cancellations or missed connections arise, you can communicate directly with the airline. The airlines has to take care of you because you have a contract with them.
If a travel agency issues your ticket, you may have to reach out to them first. You also depend on your OTA to forward you information like flight changes instead receiving them directly from the airline. You may get a prime exhibition of responsibility shifting rather than problem solving.
This especially applies for premium tickets. You don’t want to spend more than €1,000 to wind up with some budget OTA’s telephone hotline in case anything goes wrong. - Baggage Fees
Economy fares not including hold luggage are more and more common. In most cases, travel agencies charge much higher baggage fees than the airlines themselves. If bags are not included in your fare, airlines are often the cheaper alternative.
Mileage
The tickets are issued in booking class P. Icelandair is not part of the big alliances, therefore mileage accrual is limited to their own program (Saga Club) and Finnair Plus.
