The U.K. government is relaxing quarantine rules for travelers arriving from more than 70 countries, who will no longer be required to self-isolate for 14 days when entering the country. All travelers will be required to provide the government with the address of where they will be staying on their trip. Some countries on the list, such as Spain, will require travelers to fill out a health questionnaire 48 hours ahead of travel, according to The Time.
The government has been advising against all but essential travel since March, but this advice has been lifted for destinations that ”no longer pose an unacceptably high risk” for British travellers. Health measures like quarantine are set by each UK nation separately. However, Scotland still requires people travelling from Spain to quarantine – unlike England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Foreign Office’s advice against taking a cruise holiday remains in place. People arriving in the UK from France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and dozens of other countries no longer have to spend 14 days in quarantine. But people who arrived from those countries at an earlier point in the last two weeks will still be expected to complete their period of isolation, the government said. On Friday, the UK government changed its advice for Serbia, no longer allowing travellers to return without quarantining, BBC wrote.
Unless you have visited or made a transit stop in any other country or territory in the preceding 14 days, you don’t need to self–isolate when you arrive in England from the following countries and territories:
