Volcanoes
The Azores archipelago, located in a contact zone of three tectonic plates, displays a rich and diversified volcanic landscape with basaltic lava flows. There are 271 lava tubes and caves spread all over the archipelago (48% in the Pico Island and 26% in Terceira Island).
