London Stansted Airport (STN)-based Titan Airways has received the first of two Airbus A321LRs, which it intends to operate on behalf of TCS World Travel and other charters. Titan Airways is a charter plane operator that provides a turn-key solution for airlines and private customers by supplying the aircraft and complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI).
Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, TCS World Travel has specialized in luxury travel to unique destinations worldwide for the past 25-years. When speaking about the new jet and TCS World Travel plans to use it for around the world trips in 2021, company president Shelly Cline said:
“This is a momentous occasion for TCS World Travel as we develop and design a new jet that will be the most advanced and comfortable jet in our sector.”
Titan’s Boeing 757s are over 20-years-old
The new Titan Airways A321LR is powered by two fuel-efficient CFM International LEAP-1A33 engines and is being dry-leased from American aircraft leasing company, Air Lease Corporation. Titan Airways estimates that the new A321LR planes will burn around 25% less fuel than the Boeing 757-200s that the airline currently operates. Along with the high-efficiency engines, Titan Airways A321LRs have three additional center fuel tanks allowing the plane to fly approximately 4,600 without refueling.
The aircraft was delivered to Titan Airways at Stansted Airport from the Airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany, on October 26. The second of Titan Airways’ new Airbus A321LRs is expected to be delivered sometime in early spring and, like the first new Airbus, will be dry-leased from Air Lease Corporation.

Titan wants an all-Airbus fleet
Earlier this year, Titan Airways announced its plan to replace its two 20-year-old Boeing-757-200s with new Airbus aircraft as it moves towards having an all-Airbus fleet.
Acro Aircraft Seating was selected to provide the plane’s seating and offer custom-made black leather seats crafted in Italy. The seating in the two new A321LRs is highly customizable and can be configured in three different seating arrangements that are:
- A single-class layout with 202 seats
- A two-class layout with 16 premium seats and 168 standard seats
- An all-business configuration with 52 fully lie-flat seats.
The A321LR offers the most extensive cabin by height and width of any single-aisle aircraft in the market and has extra-large lavatories with full-length mirrors to give them a home-like feeling. As far as inflight entertainment is concerned, no expense has been spared to make Titan Airways entertainment offering second to none. The two aircraft will also be equipped with state-of-the-art high-speed WiFi allowing passengers global connectivity to the Internet.
Titan flew to St. Helena
Earlier in the year, Titan Airways provided repatriation flights for people stranded by the COVID-19 medical emergency and delivered medical supplies to the remote British island of St. Helena. While in St. Helena, Titan Airways flew test flights with both its Airbus A318 and Boeing 757, leading to speculation of a direct flight to the United Kingdom.
Titan Airways has big plans for its two new Airbus A321LRs, which we predict will become very popular charter aircraft.
