Bali to reopen to international visitors but only from selected countries Blog 
Bali welcomes some international flights back.
Indonesia will allow international flights to begin landing at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport as it plans to reopen the country to foreign tourists for the first time in more than 18 months.
From October 14, citizens from several countries, including South Korea, China, Japan, United Arab Emirates and New Zealand, will be permitted to visit Indonesia as long as they have proof of a hotel booking for the mandatory eight-day quarantine.
Senior cabinet minister, Luhut Pandjaitan, said the country’s reopening and easing of social restrictions is being conducted in stages because Indonesia “doesn’t want the unexpected to happen.”

However, the country is desperate to help revive Bali’s battered economy as soon as possible.
Earlier this year, Indonesia was described as the world’s Covid-19 epicentre, officially recording more than 4 million cases and 142,000 deaths.
From more than 56,000 daily cases in July, the country’s numbers have plummeted to only 1,100 cases on October 3.
Indonesia’s tourism minister, Sandiaga Uno, told reporters that Bali’s reopening will focus on travellers and returning expatriates who used to live in Bali.
“The most important priority is the safety of the Indonesian people in terms of health and being protected from the potential spike in new cases of COVID-19,” Uno said.
British, Canadian and American citizens are still barred from the country for the time being.
