DJ Soda, whose real name is Hwang So-hee, took to Instagram and Twitter to share the John F. Kennedy International Airport incident with her followers.

According to Soda, shortly after taking her seat in the business class cabin on the Los Angeles-bound plane, a flight attendant told her that her pants—which were covered with the f-word—were creating a problem.

“As I was escorted off the plane, they claimed that my sweatpants were ‘inappropriate’ and ‘offensive’ telling me that I need to take the next flight,” she says.

“I have never had an issue with wearing this pair of pants before in my many months of touring in North America and they did not have any problem with me wearing it at the time of check-in nor when I sat down at my seat.”

The Korean says she begged the staff to let her stay onboard, since she had to attend an important meeting in Los Angeles.

“I pleaded to stay on the flight but was ignored by the staff and the flight attendants. I even offered to get changed but the request was denied. What happened next was horrendous,” she wrote on her social media accounts.

“With my broken fingers, I…ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight. They even sarcastically commented that I could have taken off my pants earlier.”

Soda says the only way she was going to allowed back on the plane was if she turned her pants inside out, which she reluctantly did.

The DJ, who said the whole experience left her ‘mortified’ and ‘trembling in fear, has vowed to boycott American Airlines after the flight.

“From now on, I will be boycotting @AmericanAir and hope this NEVER happens to anyone ever again,” she tweeted.

In a statement, the airline said: “American Airlines policies prohibit offensive clothing.

“During the boarding process for American Airlines Flight 306 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), our team members informed Ms. So-hee of our policies and provided her the opportunity to change out of clothing displaying explicit language.

“The customer complied with requests and was allowed to continue travel, as planned, to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).”
